ITF launches Davis Cup Student Video Competition

The ITF today announced the launch of Davis Cup by BNP Paribas's inaugural Davis Cup Student Video Competition, providing students around the world with the opportunity to showcase their creative talents.

The Competition offers a platform for students to express their thoughts and feelings about tennis, by inviting them to produce a short film related to the ideals that make Davis Cup special – passion, excitement, pride, team spirit, sportsmanship, commitment and responsibility.

Students have until 22 October to create a film, which can be animated or recorded and must be between 1 minute and 2 minutes 30 seconds in length. The top three films will be shortlisted by the judging panel, with a public vote on the website deciding the winner.

The results will be announced on 1 December and the prize for the winner is $2,000, while the students finishing in 2nd and 3rd places will receive $500 and $250 respectively. The judging panel is made up of ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti (ITA), broadcaster Mary Carillo (USA), and industry experts Laura González (ESP) and Livvy Adjei (GBR).

ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti said: "The Davis Cup Student Video Competition is a great way for us to reach a younger audience and engage with a group of people who may not already follow Davis Cup by BNP Paribas. I look forward to seeing films that are creative, innovative and thought provoking."
