Unique filming opportunity for Shooters


shooters_logo_splashShooting People and Kew have teamed up to present Through Kew: A Film Competition. We're giving you an exclusive opportunity to shoot part of - or the entirety - of your film at one of Kew's unusual locations. All you need to do is submit a 250 word treatment of your film and an outline of how you would use Kew to its full potential. A handful of filmmaking teams will be shortlisted by a selection committee and notified by 16 July. The films will be part of a public screening and will be hosted online by Shooting People and Kew, with a potential run at festivals.

Kew is a World Heritage Site, recently voted the world's favourite gardens on Trip Advisor. Over its 250 year existence it has witnessed incredible history, and has become the world's leading centre for knowledge about plants. And it's not everyone who gets to film at Kew, so this is a one off.


Interested? Here are the rules:

  • Your film must be no longer than 10 minutes.
  • Your crew must be no larger than 5 people.
  • You must be able to complete a recky during the week of 19-23 July 2010.
  • You must be able to shoot early morning or late afternoon during the week of
    26-30 July 2010.
  • Your film must be completed by September 30th.
  • Your film must be judged to be appropriate by Kew in regards to public screenings (as a family attraction / government-funded organisation).
