The Reel - European Short Films Workshops - Call for Participants
The European Short Film Festival of Brest (France) is running a project called ‘The Reel’, which comprises European Short Film Workshops which will take place in November 2010.
The Festival is seeking motivated participants interested in culture and arts in general, who are between the ages of 18 and 25 and who do not have any specific skill or knowledge of short films.
The project:
An exchange of young European people, with the goal of promoting European short film as
well as introducing the sphere of that discipline in Europe to those young people.
The project will take place during the 25th European Short Film Festival in Brest from the 8th to the 14th of November 2010.
Objectives:
• to introduce short films to young Europeans
• to introduce the European Short Film Festival of Brest as well as collaborating festivals from other countries of Europe
• to promote European culture through youth exchange while emphasizing the participation
• to promote European co-operation in the field of culture
• to reinforce mutual understanding between different countries of Europe
Activities:
Young people will learn about cinema and short film through:
• workshops and experiments using specific equipment
• meetings with professional filmmakers presenting their work at the festival
• viewing films (with free access during all the festival programme)
• writing a column in 'VO', the daily review of the festival (edited each day).
• introduction to Brittany and of the town of Brest.
