MA Soundtrack student Joe Twaites was invited to deliver a presentation at the Games Developers Conference in San Francisco, 9 - 13 March 2010. Joe spoke about the music design process in games, focusing on how to compose 'on your feet' whilst addressing important game design issues. At the end of the day a vote was cast on the best approach and final composition with the end result awarding Joe the title of Composer's Challenge Champion.
The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is the world's largest professionals-only game industry event attracting over 17,000 attendees. It is the primary forum where programmers, artist, producers, game designers, audio professionals, business decision makers and others involved in the development of interactive games gather to exchange ideas and shape the future of the industry.

He completed the BA Soundtrack top up before engaging with the MA. He is an example of success in bringing students from FdAs, through degrees and into Post-graduate study. His success the games area is mirrored by successes there by past graduates, some of whom now hold key positions in the games industries.
