iFeatures Initiative

iFeatures is a theatrical feature film initiative, based in Bristol, and open to writers, producers and directors from across the UK. Following a call for submissions, iFeatures will invite 12 filmmaking teams to take their projects through an intensive creative and commercial development process during the first half of next year, from which 3 will be ‘greenlit’ to production in Summer 2010. Call will close before the end of November 2009.
iFeatures aims to build on the successful work of the 'Microwave' in London and 'Digital Departures' in Liverpool by raising the game in micro/low-cost filmmaking at every level – development, production, marketing, distribution & training.
This is not just for getting those 3 projects onto the screen but for supporting the production ambitions of all participants so that they ontain the knowledge and industry contacts to get their films made and out to an audience.
An array of partners is involved – BBC Films, Bristol City Council, Skillset and NESTA, with more to be announced in the near future – and a team of industry professionals.
iFeatures formally launches and opens for submissions during the week commencing 19th October. Filmmakers will have 7 weeks to submit ideas. A website containing detailed information on the initiative is live and anyone who has registered through the holding page will get a prompt email so you wil not have to keep checking back.
