Apply now for London's Engine Room Pitch Workshop - 15-16 June, London
Following sold out events in Nottingham and Birmingham, Sheffield Doc/Fest, in partnership with Wide Eye Pictures, BAFTA and the BFI, invites delegates to The Engine Room Pitch Workshop, taking place in London on 15-16 June 2010.
The Engine Room Pitch Workshop is a unique two-day project development and pitching workshop for documentary filmmakers and factual cross-platform creatives seeking UK and international commissions, co-production and market intelligence. It also offers opportunities to network.
Created by leading international pitch trainer Christina Burnett of Wide Eye Pictures, The Engine Room format has been successful in Ireland, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates as well as the UK. The workshop develops real projects, which are then presented to commissioners for feedback.
Charlie Phillips, the Marketplace Producer at Doc/Fest will give a comprehensive introduction to Sheffield Doc/Fest, the MeetMarket and worldwide opportunities at other festivals and markets. Agnieszka Moody, Director of MEDIA Desk UK, will present the funding, training and networking opportunities available to documentary filmmakers from the MEDIA Programme.
Commissioners from BBC, Channel 4, BRITDOC and the CBA-DFID Broadcast Media Scheme have taken part in previous workshops. Delegates range from multi-BAFTA winners to first-timers and the structure enables delegates at any stage of their career to understand what makes a project succeed and to maximise their own
opportunities.
Delegates can attend either as a pitcher with project, or as an observer. This workshop is open to factual filmmakers and cross-platform creatives.
