This Roadshow from Microwave will bring the brand new micro-budget feature film FREESTYLE to Bournemouth for a sneak preview screening, along with a panel of people who were involved in the production including: Mike Kelly (chair), Kolton Lee (Director) and Lincia Daniel (Producer). They will discuss micro-budget film-making and the Microwave process.

Following their participation in Microschool, film-making teams pitched their projects to a panel of experts before 3 projects were selected and given the greenlight.

Freestyle is the third Microwave film, and is a teen romantic comedy set in the world of freestyle basketball. You can find more about it on our microwave website. The film was picked up by Revolver before it was made, and they partnered with the social networking site Bebo to launch a ‘Search for a Star’.   They held open auditions for freestyle basket ball players and actors to find new talent for the film. They had Bashy, a rising UK grime/hip hop star putting together the music (he also worked on the music for KIDULTHOOD).
