Edward Mirzoeff, a quintessential British documentary filmmaker, has a spectacular credit list of his own productions which include:  BIRD'S EYE VIEW 1969-1971, METROLAND 1973 (with Sir John Betjeman),  THE REGIMENT 1977 (on the Royal Greenjackets), THE FRONT GARDEN 1979 (a study of the English at their favourite pastime), ELIZABETH R 1992 (for the 40th Anniversary of Her Majesty's Accession to the Throne).
He has also mentored, supported, encouraged and produced work with a roll call of other filmmakers such as Jonathan Gili (PUBLIC SCHOOL, THE SECOND OLDEST PROFESSION), Molly Dineen (THE ARK), Adam Curtis (PANDORA'S BOX) and many others.  He has been nominated for and won many awards including four BAFTAs.  Full Wikipedia entry here.
