Bournemouth 3D Week ended on
Friday 19th November 2010 and was hailed as a great success by those who attended. This mini season addressed many aspects of 3D stereo with sessions on the history of 3D stereoscopy, 3D shooting, 3D post production, 3D television and 3D cinema exhibition. It took place at Bournemouth University and the Arts University College at Bournemouth, as well as at the ODEON cinema in Bournemouth.
The week-long event closed with an excellent
'3D or not 3D?' debate, hosted by Phil Jupitus. Adrian Wootton (CEO Film London), Gary Kurtz (Producer), Richard Johns (Producer and Co-Director BSMA) and Murray Weston (Co-Director BSMA) debated in teams 'for' and 'against' the proposition of 3D cinema and television having a sustainable future.
The 130+ audience joined in the debate and then voted 'fad' or 'future'. To the surprise of many, the vote was split evenly 50:50.....
